After it is completed, our product will prompt you to restart the computer to finish the compacting. </p> <p>For Windows XP/2000/2003/NT4, please click the "Analyzing Registry" button and our product will first analyze your registry. After the analyzing is completed, it will show you the report and tell you the size of the current registry files and the estimated size after compacting/defragging. Please click the "Compact/Defrag Registry" button after reviewing the report and our product will defrag/compact the Registry for you. The whole process may take several minutes to complete. After it is completed, our product will prompt you to restart the computer to finish the compacting.</p> <p><b><span style="font-size: 9pt; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">Note: Before defragging, I have 1% fragment in the registry. However, the 1% fragment still exists right after using Free Registry Defrag. Why does this happen?</span></b></p> <p>The first time you use Free Registry Defrag, normally the defrag rate of your registry is more than 10%. After using our product and restart, you will find normally the fragment rate is less than 1% after compacting. </p> <p>However, if your registry fragment rate is less than 2%, no matter how many times you compact your registry, the remaining fragments may won't go away and you will see the same analyzing result again and again (That means your registry fragment rate remains 1% or 2% even after compacting). This is not a problem of the product or the system and this is because Windows automatically adds some extra space to system hive of the registry every time of restarting. Don't worry for that. If the analyzing result shows your registry fragment rate is less than 2%, we suggest that your registry doesn't need to be compacted at this time.</p> </font> <p><b><font face="Verdana" style="font-size: 9pt"><a name="Startup Organizer">Startup Organizer</a></font></b></p> <p><font face="Verdana" style="font-size: 9pt">There are many programs which will be automatically started when you start Windows. After your system has been used for years and you have many application installed, you will feel your Windows starts slower and slower. Part of the reason is that there are too many programs which will be started up automatically. Among them, some programs are no use at all and you will never need it. Further more, some Spyware/Adware and Trojan also put themselves in the startup list. If a BHO is a known Spyware, Adware or Trojan in our database, we will mark it as dangerous in the safety column and it is strongly suggest you to uncheck that item in BHO organizer to disable it. There are 3 state for the safety column: Safe, Dangerous, Unknown. Safe means it is safe to use it and it is not Spyware/Adware or Trojan based on our database. Dangerous means that BHO is known Spyware/Adware or Trojan.
